Meru County workers who have been away from duty for the last six months for one reason or another have been directed to report to the Chief Officer-In-Charge of Public Service and Administration for immediate reassignment.
During a meeting with various Departmental Directors and Administrators, the newly appointed Meru County Chief of Staff, Dr Julius Mbijiwe, said the new Governor Reverend Isaac Mutuma, was ready to work with all the employees to regain the County's lost glory. "This is a new page for the County and we don't want to leave anyone behind.
We are, therefore, calling on all those workers who were out to join us, as the development train kicks-off, so that we can make appropriate changes together," said Dr Mbijiwe.
Dr Mbijiwe added that the idea of holding a cleanliness day for the entire County was a point of discussion during the meeting where workers and all the members of the public, will be required to clean their respective towns and markets, to inculcate the culture of cleanliness. "Over and above, it is our duty to 'clean' the County, we also want to engage the residents so that we can adapt and take as a responsibility the idea of keeping our County clean all the time," said Dr Mbijiwe.
