Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa has been elected as the chairperson of the ODM regional chairpersons executive committee.

In the new changes, Barasa will be deputised by Muhammad Ali Sheikh from the North Eastern region.

Speaking after the Council of County Chairpersons meeting in Nairobi on Thursday, Wachira Maina, who was elected the committee secretary, said the new team reflects a national representation, with members elected from all eight regions.

Hamilton Orata, Homa Bay Deputy Governor, was elected as the caucus vice secretary, while Moses Wamoru will be the treasurer.
