Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked President William Ruto to resign following former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi's claim that he is "unfit to be president".

Speaking at Redeemed Gospel Church in Sultan Hamud, Makueni County, Kalonzo said the words of the former Attorney General were weighty since Muturi was once in the President's inner circle. "A former attorney General put it clearly that the foundation of the country is shaking because of corruption," Kalonzo said, adding that the Kenya's economy had been put in a perilous state.

He also defended Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti over her government's investigations by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), with recent summoning of two officials, Finance CECM Onesmus Kuyu and Energy Chief Officer Abdi Guliye.

Kuyu, Wavinya's right hand man, is on EACC's radar with detectives having taken documents from his offices and home after a raid.
