Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has stood his ground on remarks he recently made about Trans Nzoia County Governor George Natembeya, calling him out as a tribalist.

In a response to residents of Trans Nzoia who came to the governor's defence, Cherargei called for the impeachment of the Trans Nzoia governor. "Governor Natembeya should be impeached for stoking tribal animosity, division, poor development and corruption allegations.

These offences are impeachable under the Constitution of Kenya 2010 for violating Articles 10, 27, 73, 74, 75 and 174," he stated. "He is not fit & suitable to be Governor of Trans Nzoia County BUT suitable to be chief tribal chief mobiliser to practice his tribal rhetoric."
