Following a raid and subsequent apprehension of Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi on Tuesday morning, the anti-graft commission EACC has revealed it recovered millions of shillings in the governor's residence.
According to a statement by the EACC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdi Mohamud, a total of Ksh13 million was recovered in cash at the home of the governor, amounts which the graft body believes are proceeds of unscrupulous dealings.
Additionally, the detectives managed to recover USD13,000, about Ksh1,685,320.
Mohamud revealed that it will use the money recovered and other shreds of evidence before them to prosecute individuals linked to the graft allegations. Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi during a past event.
