The government has commenced the process of constructing houses for police officers under the Affordable Housing Project.
In an official notice published in the MyGov issue of Tuesday, January 14, the government, through the Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, under the State Department for Housing and Urban Development, invited interested parties to bid for tenders related to the housing project. "The government invites tenders from interested eligible tenderers for the following tenders," the notice read in part.
According to the tender notice, the 560 police houses will be built in different places including at State House in Nairobi.
President William Ruto and former DP Rigathi Gachagua laid the stone for the building of affordable houses in Nanyuki on January 10, 2024.
