The founder of Karumandi women football clubs, Dominic Mugo has said that female soccer has not been well supported, calling upon Kenyans to embrace it.

Mugo has said that at Karumandi, Kirinyaga East sub county, apart from football, they will also include other talent-nurturing programmes to benefit local women.

For instance, we will do other economic empowerment activities like poultry and pig farming, aimed at creating employment opportunities for the members and supporting local businesses.

Speaking during the launch of the Karumandi clubs' tournament, Mugo added that 'we can use this football to travel around the country and get to learn new ideas, which may positively impact one's life.' "We have seen football and other talent nurturing activities promote national unity and foster cultural exchange.
