The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the temporary closure of a section of Mombasa Road and the Nairobi Expressway near Katani Road between Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20.

In a notice dated April 16, the authority urged motorists bound for Mombasa for the Easter festivities during the long weekend to expect this temporary traffic disruption.

According to KeNHA, this is to allow for the installation of fabricated footbridge beams in the area. "The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to notify the public that a section of Mombasa Road (A8) near Katani Road Junction will experience traffic disruption along the Mombasa-bound lanes from Saturday, 19th April, 2025, at 10.00pm to Sunday, 20th July, 2025 at 6.00am," KeNHA noted "This is to allow for the installation of the fabricated footbridge beams.

KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan below and cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site." More to follow...
