Detectives drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have apprehended a woman after she was found in possession of cocaine worth Ksh1.6 million.
Addressing members of the public on Saturday evening, the DCI officers revealed that the 45-year-old was nabbed hiding the illicit drugs inside her body.
The bust began when the middle-aged woman, a passenger in a Marsabit-bound Toyota Probox, decided to decline a routine search by police officers manning the highway.
According to the officers, while her fellow passengers complied with the officers' checks, the woman threw a tantrum and refused to be searched by the police.
