Governor Anyang' Nyong'o has issued a response to a damaging report from the Daily Nation, which listed Kisumu as the county with the highest value of voided transactions among 15 devolved units.

In the report published on Sunday, April 20, concern was raised over Ksh13 billion in pending bills across several counties, sparking alarm.

According to the report, Kisumu County led in voided payments, as an audit reportedly exposed 4,127 cancelled transactions valued at Ksh2.67 billion.

But in his statement, Nyong'o denied claims that voided payments equated to financial misconduct or diversion of funds.
