The family of a 14-year-old girl who was mauled by a lion in Kajiado County has come out to explain the circumstances behind the painful incident that has left the village of Emakoko gripped in fear and shock.   According to Kennedy Kigen, the father of Peace Mwendwa-the girl mauled by the wild animal-his three children were inside a house within the homestead when the beast appeared.

The animal, after jumping over the makeshift fence, immediately entered the house with the three children, unaware of what to do with the wildcat.  The father narrated that he heard screams and rushed to see what was happening, only to see his child being dragged by the lioness.  A pride of lions at Maasai Mara Game Reserve Photo Maasai Mara Game Reserve ''I was nearby when I heard screams coming from the compound.
