Normalcy was disrupted in the Loima Constituency after hundreds of residents stormed the NG-CDF offices in protests against UDA Member of Parliament Protus Akuja.
The residents, armed with tree branches and placards with messages against the MP, demanded that the legislator be removed from the seat for alleged malpractice, nepotism, and lack of transparency while awarding tenders, jobs, and National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) bursaries.
While marching peacefully to the offices as they chanted 'Akuja Must Go', the residents expressed a lack of trust and dissatisfaction in their area.
They have also accused the MP of absenteeism. ''We are tired of Akuja, every other constituency has received the CDFs, we see the residents being helped, but that is not the case here, we have not received any CDF, the MP is barely seen here,'' one of the residents decried.
