The Director General of the Kenya Meteorological Department, David Gikungu, now says that rains are expected to reduce significantly over the weekend.
Gikungu, while speaking during an interview on TV47, said the reduction in rains was projected in most parts of the country, except for the coastal region, where moderate rains were expected.
He also noted that the reduction in the downpour was expected to last for at least three days before the commencement of another episode of heavy rains across the country.
According to the Kenya Met boss, besides the coastal region, some parts of the Highlands East region, which encompass Nairobi, were also expected to continue receiving rains, but in slight amounts.
