Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, April 25, recounted an experience with the late Pope Francis where the Pope 'threw him out of his own office.' While speaking during a requiem mass at Holy Family Basilica, Uhuru revealed the incident occurred after a one-on-one meeting with Pope Francis had concluded.  The former President noted that an unmanned individual had requested him for a session with the head of the Catholic church to which he had agreed.

It is when that the individual entered the room that the Pope inadvertently threw him out of his own office. "As most of you in the diplomatic service know, when a Head of State is visiting, you normally have a one-on-one session before you go out together in public.

Now before this, an individual I will not name had requested for a short meeting to which I agreed," he noted. "After our meeting concluded, I invited the individual, and then we all sat there in silence.

It is then that His Holiness told me, 'I thought you said he wanted to talk to me.' So for the first time as President, another Head of State threw me out of my own office which I found to be quite incredible," Uhuru stated.
