Nyasore Mixed Secondary school in Homa-Bay County has stormed into the limelight with exemplary performance in the 2024 KCSE exams To many the school has emerged as a beacon of hope and success, though shunned at some point because of its low grades, after the release of the 2024 KCSE exams, it now shines among other academic giants in Rachuonyo East Sub- County of Homa Bay County.
Under the leadership of Mr.
Thomas Ombuki, who became the school's principal in 2021, Nyasore mixed has had a remarkable turnaround both in terms of student population and performance. "When I joined the school in the year 2021, the school had a population of 49 students with just 14 candidates sitting for the KCSE Exams that year," the principal said.
That year, Ombuki said the school's mean grade was as low as 2.4, with no student attaining a grade higher than a C-, which saw the school ranked last among 48 schools in the sub-county.
