Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has declared his 2027 presidential bid, joining the ever-growing list of aspirants who have already announced their bids for the top seat.
In a statement released on Monday morning, the youthful lawmaker stated that the decision had been arrived at following wide consultations and considerations from the public. "Fellow Kenyans, after deep reflection, wide consultations, and careful consideration of the state of our nation, I, Peter Kalerwa Salasya, the Member of Parliament for Mumias East Constituency, hereby declare my intention to vie for the Presidency of the Republic of Kenya in the 2027 General Election," he declared.
According to the MP, he had been motivated to vie for the seat due to a "profound desire to offer bold, transformative leadership that will reposition our great nation for industrial growth, economic empowerment, and social justice."
