Religious leaders of BBMI Christian ministry in Busia County have called upon the community to be much more involved in the reintegration of the former inmates into society.

Speaking during a special Easter prayer and donation event at Korinda Prison, Busia, the clergy emphasized acceptance, forgiveness, and second chances for ex-prisoners who have portrayed a genuine turnaround in their lives.

Led by Pastors Shadrack Oparanya, Michael Ouor, Robbert Lusweti, Simon Namayi, and Rose Namayi, the clergy urged the government to consider pardoning inmates convicted of minor offences especially those who have shown a notable change in their behaviour. "Easter reminds us that no one is beyond redemption.

We therefore urge the government to extend the spirit of forgiveness to those who have made a genuine change in their behaviour," stated Pastor Shadrack Oparanya.
