Residents of Mandera county are celebrating after the official establishment of a new administrative unit, Khalalio Sub-County.
With the creation of the new sub-county, residents will now be able to access government services more easily and conveniently, ending the need to travel long distances for essential services.
Leaders and members of the local community praised the government for elevating Khalalio to sub-county status, noting that the area will now open up for business and development opportunities across Mandera County.
Previously, residents faced significant hardships accessing government services, but with the new administrative unit, services will be closer to the people, greatly improving their daily lives.
