A total of 400 survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and female genital mutilation (FGM) have received critical support of Sh510,000 donations from West Pokot Women Representative Rael Aleotum.

The funds, channeled through the community-based organization (CBO) Kelpo Tamas, aimed to aid the survivors in rebuilding their lives through economic empowerment, trauma recovery, and access to essential services.

Speaking during the event held at Kacheliba Constituency in Suam ward, Aleotum commended Kelpo Tamas for their initiative, emphasizing the significance of women's empowerment in fostering development. "Empowering women is not just about social justice, it is a key driver of sustainable development.

I commend Kelpo Tamas for their foresight and commitment to positive change," Aleotum said.
