The Russian Federation intends to support the Vihiga county government in health, education, ecology and climate sectors for the benefit of the county residents.

Speaking when he visited the county in the company of the area Senator Godfrey Osotsi, the Federation's ambassador to Kenya, Vsevolod Tkachenko, pledged collaboration in critical development areas, a move that will strengthen the ties between the devolved unit and the former Soviet Union.

The envoy, who visited the Kaimosi Friends University (KAFU), said the institution would liaise with the Russian varsities to run exchange programmes in the fields of mutual interest.

Osotsi said he had recently had a working tour to Russia and was embraced by the willingness of the host to collaborate with Vihiga County for mutual benefit.
