The Kenya Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rains in some parts of the country over the weekend beginning Friday, May 2, to Tuesday, May 6.

Kenya Met Director General, David Gikungu, on Friday, May 2, said rains were expected in parts of the Lake Victoria basin, the Highlands East, the South Eastern Lowlands, the Western part of Kenya and the Coastal region.

Gikungu indicated that morning rains were likely in the Highland East counties of Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka-Nithi and Nairobi.

The Kenya Met boss also projected downpour in Counties within the Lake Victoria Basin and Rift Valley, including Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia and Uasin-Gishu.
