A devastating fire that broke out at the University of Nairobi main campus has left a spate of losses in its wake.
The fire caused huge damage to a section of the famous Gadhi Wing, an iconic building at the university located near the old administration building. According to preliminary reports, the fire is believed to have started on the second floor of the historic building before spreading to other areas.
Initially, the fire appeared to have been contained just past midnight on Thursday, January 16.
However, according to Central Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Stephen Okal, the inferno broke out again at dawn.
