The Ministry of Health has directed all Universal Health Coverage (UHC) staff currently not at work to resume immediately, with a deadline of May 7.
Medical Services Principal Secretary Ouma Oluga issued the directive during a meeting with Council of Governors CEO Mary Mwiti, stating the urgency of the return to duty.
In a statement dated May 6, the ministry also announced that the management of the UHC staff payroll will be transferred to county governments effective July 1.
In the interim, counties will receive the necessary budget to continue paying stipends under current terms.
