Construction of a Huduma Centre in Butula Sub County is set to begin soon, Butula Member of Parliament Joseph Oyula has said.
Speaking in Butula, Oyula said the initiative would bring government services closer to local residents. "We are ready to start the construction of the Huduma Centre so that all the services we have been seeking at the Huduma Centre in Busia will now be available here in Butula," he said, adding that the area DCC has already identified a location for construction, which will be funded through the NG-CDF.
He said the storey building to be constructed would include an ICT hub that will offer opportunities for youth to learn computer skills. "We understand there is a problem of unemployment, and ICT is seen as a sector that can offer opportunities for the youth.
We will have an ICT hub for our youth to train in ICT and be able to work online," he said.
