Nandi Hills Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Benard Kitur, has disbursed bursary cheques worth Sh 60 million to needy students learning in various secondary and tertiary institutions in the area.
Kitur, who underscored the importance of education, noted that education is the key social mobility equalizer between the poor and the rich.
During the occasion, the legislator emphasized that his love for education necessitates allocation of a lion's share of the National Government Constituency Development Funds (NG-CDF) to the education sector.
Speaking after launching the bursary the legislator divulged that his office is committed to ensuring all students regardless of their background are supported to pursue their education with minimum fee challenges so as to excel in education to make their future bright.
