Residents of Kisii County have benefited from a free medical camp organised by Kisii University in conjunction with other health stakeholders in the region.

The stakeholders included Kisii Eye Hospital, Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH), Equity Afya Medical Centre, Red Cross, and Dynapath Medical Laboratory.

The medical camp, which saw the residents turn up in large numbers, involved free consultations, investigations, diagnoses, and treatment.

Speaking to KNA during the event, Red Cross Official Joseph Onchangwi said the aim of the event was to provide free medical care such as eye check-ups, dental challenges, blood pressure and any other medical condition the locals may be experiencing. "We also have drugs that we are issuing after the tests are done, and we can evacuate our patients to referral hospitals if the need arises," Onchangwi said.
