The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has donated a military aircraft to the Moi Forces Academy-Lanet for aviation studies. The donation was made after the school launched an Aviation Technology subject, becoming the first National Girls' School to offer it in the country.
According to KDF, the donation will help the over 50 students currently enrolled in the subject gain practical exposure to aviation operations.
Further, KDF defied the norm, where some of the donations that have been made in the past were mainly decommissioned planes, by donating a fully functional training aircraft. ''The event themed 'Demystifying Aviation' saw the school acquire a fully functional training aircraft which will henceforth provide the over 50 students currently enrolled for the subject a practical exposure to aviation operations.'' Moi Forces Academy-Lanet will now officially be the first girls' national school to offer aviation studies as a subject.
