At least 30 women at Mother and Child Hospital in Makueni County received gift hampers from the Makueni Deputy Governor (DG) Lucy Mulili to mark Mother's Day.
The mothers who gave birth at the hospital got gift hampers that contained some clothes for the newborns, diapers and baby shawls and a small token. "The gesture is part of the government's efforts to honor and celebrate motherhood," said Mulili while addressing the mothers at the hospital on Monday.
She praised the role women play in the society and challenged them to prioritize medical care for the infants by adopting modern health practices for better outcomes.
Present at the function included the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Internship, Education and ICT.
