The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is set to conduct a repeat of grassroots elections in Tana River and Mombasa counties this week.
In a statement shared on Tuesday, May 13, the party said that the elections will be conducted in the two counties on Saturday, May 17, from 9am to 3pm.
The party did not, however, state the exact reason as to why it will conduct repeat elections in the two counties and said that the decision was made 'after review of the initial exercise'. "The National Elections Board of the UDA hereby issues a notice of repeat Grassroots Elections to all party members in Tana River and Mombasa Counties," the notice stated.
