Rainfall is expected to continue over a few regions for the next one week, Kenya Meteorological Department has said.
The regions to receive the most rainfall are listed as highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin and the Rift Valley. This will affect counties in these regions namely; Nandi, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Siaya, Busia, Baringo, Nakuru, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin-Gishu, Elgeyo-Marakwet, West-Pokot, Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Kisumu, Homabay, Migori and Narok.
However, the department said rainfall amounts and spatial coverage are likely to reduce during the second half of the forecast period. "Average daytime (maximum) temperatures of more than 30°C will be experienced in much of the Coast, North-eastern and North-western Kenya," said Dr David Gikungu, Director of Meteorological Services.
