Thousands of learners set to sit the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Junior Secondary School (JSS), and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams risk being affected due to a lack of budgetary allocations.
This comes after the Ministry of Education revealed that no funds were set aside in the 2025/26 national budget for exam preparation and invigilation.
The National Assembly Education Committee has since raised alarm over the glaring omission, warning that the failure to allocate funds jeopardises the administration of critical national assessments.
Appearing before the Committee to defend his ministry's budget estimates, Education PS Julius Bitok was unable to explain why the KPSEA, JSS, and KCSE examinations had not been allocated funding.
