Nyandarua Health executive, Juliana Syoweu Tsinanga, has pointed out that from now henceforth nurses' input will be a requirement for design of all new health facilities to be constructed in the County.
Tsinanga said that owing to the fact that nurses spend most of their working hours in the facilities are better placed to know how big rooms and doors should be and where sinks should be put. "We believe nurses together with doctors and allied professionals must great role to play in how health services are designed, managed and delivered," said the executive.
The Health Executive was speaking during the launch of the County International Nurses Week celebrations at the Ol Joroorok ACK church compound.
Furthermore, Tsinanga noted that since she came into office, she has given first priority to nursing agenda including addressing workforce shortage and improving their working conditions. "I believe nurses and midwives play vital role in ensuring healthier communities and stronger systems," added Tsinanga.
