Traffic has built up along the busy Thika Super Highway after a road accident in the Ngara area.

Motorists attempting to access the central business district of Nairobi city have expressed difficulty navigating the highway.

This was after a matatu ferrying passengers to the CBD got involved in a road crash, leaving several passengers with injuries.

The accident is said to have occurred around 7:30am, around Guru Nanak, near the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD), after a matatu rammed into another vehicle from the rear.  The matatu caused several other cars that were trailing it to crash into each other, further complicating the situation.  Most passengers were forced to walk on foot, while others were forced to use motorbikes to access the CBD.  More to follow:..
