Residents of Ndhiwa Sub county are a delighted lot after the government allocated Sh85million to set up a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institute in the area.

Ndhiwa constituency Member of Parliament Martin Owino said that the institute which will be built at Ochol village will boost access to technical skills for the locals.

He said the national government was collaborating with the Ndhiwa constituency office to implement the project which will be a constituent college of Mawego National Polytechnic.

The legislator said the project will be completed in one year and will take about 800 students in the first batch. "Residents and community need to support such institutions because they are they are the sources of self-employment.
