Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has spoken for the first time after he was released from police custody on Monday, May 19.

The outspoken lawmaker's torrid few days ended with a release on bond, days after he was apprehended along the Isiolo-Nanyuki Highway.

Moments after his release, a visibly shaken Salasya faulted the government and authorities for the manner in which he was apprehended, claiming he was 'arrested like a robber'. "First of all, I want to condemn the incident because if they are government officers, there should be a procedure for arresting an officer guarded by other officers," he said.
