The Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Kericho County Department of Health Services, has announced suspension of in-patient admissions at the Kericho County Referral Hospital in readiness for the commencement of major renovations which includes the critical removal of asbestos roofing.
The facility is scheduled to be officially handed over for renovation by June 2, 2025.
Speaking to Kenya News Agency, County Health Services Chief Officer Dr.
Japheth Cheruiyot confirmed that no new inpatient admissions will be accepted at the hospital starting Tuesday, May 20, 2025, explaining that patients will be redirected to other public Level Four facilities, including Kapkatet, Sigowet, and Londiani Hospitals.
