Turkana Governor Jeremiah Lomorukai has warned a section of MPs and police officers, accusing them of fanning violence ahead of the 2027 elections.

Lomorukai took on a section of police officers, claiming that they had abandoned security work and were being used to settle political scores.

The Governor said unknown gunmen recently sprayed bullets at the home of his son in a plot to intimidate him. "Police officers in Turkana are meddling in local politics.

They are being used to cause division and breach the peace," the visibly angry Governor said on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of new county secretary Dr Richard Ekai and chairman of county public service board Ekunyuk Ingolan.
