A fire broke out on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 4, in the Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums, leaving about 100 families without homes.

Videos seen by Kenyans.co.ke showed the iron sheet houses engulfed by fire as it razed through the houses.

According to reports, the fire started at around 2pm and is believed to have been caused by a gas cylinder that was leaking in one of the houses.

By the time of publishing this story, the number of casualties, if any, was yet to be established.
