Over 200 construction artisans in Migori County have been trained and accredited with certificates by the National Construction Authority (NCA).

The group is the first lot among tens of artisans earmarked to undergo training within the next few weeks under the sponsorship of the office of the Migori County Women Representative.

The trainings under the NCA tutelage aim at empowering a total of 2,000 construction artisans, many of whom operate in a Jua-Kali way without professional documents to prove their skills.

Speaking to the press after handing over certificates to those who had completed the coursework, Migori Woman Representative, M/s Fatumah Mohammed, explained that the programme will end in the next four days after being conducted across all the eight Sub-Counties of Migori County. "The trainings will help the local construction workers secure relevant certification in their respective fields," said Mohammed during the graduation forum held at Awendo recreational Park in Awendo town.
