The Australian government has issued an advisory notice to its citizens who are planning to visit Kenya to be careful.

This warning came from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), which issued an updated advisory on Friday, June 6.

The department stated that this is due to ongoing regional instability, frequent protests, and serious security threats, especially in areas close to Kenya's borders. "We continue to advise exercising a high degree of caution in Kenya overall due to the threat of terrorism and violent crime.

Higher levels apply in some areas." Tourists arriving at the Mombasa Port on February 2, 2024.
