The government has released Ksh3.51 billion to support vulnerable groups under the Inua Jamii Cash Transfer Programme for the month of May.
The funds aim to ensure financial relief for 1,759,656 beneficiaries across the country.
In an official statement dated June 7, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through Principal Secretary Joseph Motari, said the funds are much needed to assist select vulnerable Kenyans in the country. ''The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, through the State Department for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, has released Ksh3,519,312,000 for payment to 1,759,656 beneficiaries enrolled in the Inua Jamii Program,'' the statement read in part.
