Chaos erupted at the Homa Bay County Assembly on Tuesday morning as some MCAs were barred from accessing the premises by people whose identities could not immediately be established, an incident that disrupted proceedings.

This came amid claims of a plan to impeach Majority Leader Richard Ogindo on June 10 over accusations of corruption. "We were stopped for no reason.

Some of us had travelled long distances to be here only to be blocked from doing our job," one of the MCA said.

The impeachment came after 22 MCAs had signed a petition to have him impeached, while 21 MCAs had declined the sign.
