The government has proposed an allocation of Ksh700 million towards the implementation of the Electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system.
Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, while presenting the 2025/2026 budget estimates before the National Assembly, confirmed that the significant sum would go towards rolling out the programme, which is aimed at addressing and sealing corruption loopholes in procurement within government agencies. ''The government is committed to transparency and accountability in procurement.
In this regard, I have proposed an allocation of Ksh700 million for rolling out the implementation of the Electronic Government Procurement (eGP),'' Mbadi announced.
The government has set the 2025/2026 budget at Ksh4.29 trillion, which it aims to finance through revenues, loans, and grants from financial partners.
