Several people are feared to have passed away following a fire incident that caught a four-storey building in Nairobi's Kawangware estate.  The fire occurred in the Stage 2 area of the Congo area in the populous Kawangware estate.

It is suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault.

According to eyewitnesses, the fire began spreading rapidly, with thick black smoke engulfing the air.  Local kiosks, shops, and several houses were affected, with the occupants forced to temporarily scamper for safety, fearing the fire could spread over.  A collage of a fire incident ravaging a residential area at Kawangware 56 in Nairobi County on Friday, January 3, 2025.
