The County Department of Energy has installed streetlights in Kalobeyei, Turkana West, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and support local economic growth.
The project, which involves the installation of solar-powered streetlights, is aimed at enhancing security, extending business hours, and improving the overall quality of life for residents in the area.
According to Alice Ajore, a businesswoman at Kalobeyei Centre, the new streetlights had made a significant difference in the community. "We are now able to operate our businesses at night and crime has reduced significantly.
Life has become better for many of us," she said.
