Just a day after the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) opened its application portal for Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) students, the board has released directions on how to go about the process.
In a statement dated June 19, HELB announced that the scheme would cover the tuition fees and was only open for certificate and diploma students at the institution. "The Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) has partnered with the Higher Education Loans Board to set up the KMTC Students Financing Scheme to offer financing to students pursuing medical courses at KMTC.
The scheme will cater for tuition fees," the statement read.
The fund, therefore, outlined how both first-time applicants and subsequent loan applicants could access these loans after a full financial year of being cut off as beneficiaries.
