Boda boda operators in Narok have strongly criticized the use of fellow riders to fuel violence and unrest as witnessed during Tuesday's demonstrations in Nairobi, calling for discipline and accountability within the sector.

Speaking to Kenya News Agency in Narok, the riders condemned the infiltration of their sector by criminals who were seen pick-pocketing and looting shops during the protests.

Emmanuel Kip, a rider in the town, insisted that the boda boda industry is peace-loving and well-organized, and should not be tainted by the actions of a few rogue individuals. "The sector is peaceful and well-organized," said Kip, adding, "We question why some of our colleagues were involved in the chaos in Nairobi.

We urge all riders to obey the law and act as role models to other members of the business community." Kip further called on boda boda leadership in Nairobi and other affected towns to identify and discipline those who took part in the destruction witnessed during the demonstrations.
