Kenyans are taking to the streets today, June 25, to honour Gen Zs who lost their lives during the 2024 anti-Finance Bill protests.
The deadly demonstrations claimed 60 lives, left many injured, and others reportedly missing.
Ahead of the protests, the government took proactive steps to manage the picketing, including the closure of roads, barricading access to major government buildings such as Parliament, and deploying a heavy police presence in Nairobi's Central Business District.
Despite assurances from protesters that the march will remain peaceful, the State has not taken any chances.
