President William Ruto has promoted and appointed senior officers to lead key military units, reshaping defence leadership.

In a dispatch by the Ministry of Defence Director of Communication Temesi Mukani on Friday, June 27, Ruto promoted Major General David Ketter to Lieutenant General and appointed him Commander Kenya Army after Lieutenant General David Tarus was redeployed to the National Defence University, Kenya as Vice Chancellor.

Ketter was Assistant Chief of Defence Forces in charge of personnel and logistics.

Ruto also appointed Major General Bernard Waliaula as Commander Kenya Air Force, replacing Major General Fatuma Ahmed, who retired after forty-two years of service.
