Isiolo governor Abdi Guyo will remain in office after the High Court in Meru on Friday ruled that his impeachment was null and void.
In his judgment, Justice Heston Mbogo said that the conservatory orders previously issued on June 25 were still in force, blocking any attempts to impeach the governor.
Members of the Isiolo County Assembly had on Thursday voted, with 16 out of 18 MCAs supporting the motion to oust him on the grounds of misconduct.
Following the vote, the County Assembly impeached the governor and proceeded to inform the Senate of the governor's impeachment.
